The Cradley Heath Model Railway Club is a friendly and welcoming club situated in the heart of the Black Country. We are a relatively small club, with just over 30 members.
The Objectives of our club are to build and exhibit model railways that are of interest to club members and to help to further the members' knowledge of all aspects of railways, both model and the prototype.
We have a variety of layouts at various stages of completion in several gauges/scales, therefore there is something for everyone. Please see our ‘Club Layouts’ page for more information on our projects.

MODELLING AND CONSTRUCTIONOur members range from complete novices who are learning about model railways for the first time, to experts who have years of experience under their belt.
From time to time, we hold workshops to help pass on the skills older members have acquired over the years they have been modelling to our less experienced members who can then use this knowledge on their own personal projects at home.. It's not just workshops where skills can be learnt, as there is always a project going on in the club, and our members are always happy for others to observe, join in, and above all, learn. |
THE CLUB ROOM
The space we have been using since the end of 2019 is a large unit which has given us the opportunity to split the space into two rooms. A large workspace that allows us to keep our layouts set up ready for work to continue over consecutive meets. This prevents time being spent setting up & dismantling each night. Also kept here are a large supply of materials required to build a layout, including tools & equipment, materials, scenery & much more.
We also have a smiler modelling room, built at the front of our larger room by the members. This space is used for smaller projects such as repairs to locos & rolling stock, painting or building kits. There is also a computer being set up which is planned to be used for research projects by club members for existing or future projects. As of yet this has not been connected to internet access as the pandemic has slowed down our setting up & progress. We also have a seating area here for members who may wish to just drop in & have a catch up or a chat
We also have a kitchen/mess room which contains a kettle, fridge & microwave set up for use of the members whilst attending our evening and Sunday day-time meets.
