POWKE HALSE - 00 dcc EXHIBITION LAYOUT UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Powke Halse is a fictional location on the Great Central Main Line between Brauston & Willoughby built in early 1960 to serve the town of Daventry 5 miles to the south east, one of the largest towns without any rail connection.
Daventry was an overspill town for Birmingham & it was hoped that the population would increase substantially & provide a large number of travellers. The station was built to principle GC standards of an island platform & a siding to accommodate the potential traffic from British Timken, Ford Motor Company & DHL.
The layout is being constructed by new club members & is using the baseboards from the old Burghclere. Set in two time periods. 1955 – 1965 Great Central Eastern Region & 1965 – 1980 Great Central Midland Region
